When you grow up in a family bait and tackle shop, fishing isn't just something you do, it's something you live. Long before Big League Bait Company ever stamped its name on a pack of soft plastics, our story started in a small shop in Central Florida, tucked between some of the best bass lakes in the country. Those lakes shaped us. That shop shaped us. And the people who stepped through those doors taught us what fishing is really about. 

This is the story behind Big League Bait Company, a legacy built on family, simplicity, and a whole lot of time on the water. 

A Bait Shop, a Family, and a Way of Life

Our family has been in the fishing industry for over 45 years. Back then, nothing about fishing was complicated. You picked a bait you trusted, tied it on the same way you'd always done it, and went back to work. Growing up around the shop, we saw every type of angler walk in, the weekend fisherman, the tournament diehards, kids spending their allowance on their first pack of worms. 

What they all had in common was simple, they wanted something that worked. 

We learned early that the best fishing isn't about having 200 different baits, it's about having the right ones. That's a lesson that stuck with us long after the original shop closed its doors. 

The Words That Still Drive Us Today

There's a quote we heard more times than we can count. Whenever we asked our Grandfather why he always reached for the same bait, the same style, the same setup, every trip he'd look up and say:

"Cause anything else is just playin' in the water."

At the time, it felt like a simple joke.

Now we realize it was a philosophy, one that shaped our entire brand. 

It reminded us that good baits don't need gimmicks, flashy packaging, or wild promises. They need reliability, consistency, and the kind of action you can trust day in and day out. 

That's exactly what we're committed to building.
